Today's economic calendar will focus on housing for the second day in a row, following yesterday's existing home sales report.
The weekly MBA mortgage-purchase applications report kicks off the day at 7 a.m. ET.
New home sales for April will be released at 10 a.m. ET. The consensus forecast calls for a slight gain to 335,000 sales from March's 328,000. Estimates range from 325,000 to 355,000.
Also at 10 a.m. ET Next on the 10 a.m. ET docket is the FHFA house price index for March which analysts are expecting the M/M change at 0.3 percent within a range of 0.1 percent to 0.7 percent, prior 0.3 percent.
Weekly EIA petroleum figures will be released at 10:30 a.m. ET. The last reading came in at 2.128 million barrels.
Closing out the day will be a five-year Treasury note auction at 1 p.m. ET.
