Hulu leads in free streaming

The popular video site accounted for 43% of total free program streams in '12, according to an NPD Group report. Hulu streams content from its parents, Walt Disney's (DIS) ABC, Comcast's (CMCSA) NBC and News Corp.'s (NWSA) Fox channel. CBS (CBS), the only major broadcaster not involved with Hulu, was second with 10%. But users also went directly to Hulu's partners. ABC.com was 3rd with 9%, followed by Fox.com and NBC.com with 4% each. Netflix (NFLX) was the top subscription streaming service. Netflix shares rose 6.03%.
