If you’re in love AND love burgers – listen up! Smashburger is giving one lucky couple the opportunity to get married in Las Vegas on the auspicious date of 11/12/13. Couples are encouraged to create a Vine video showing their love for burgers AND each other with the hashtag #SmashWedding. (Entrants must then publish their posts to www.Facebook.com/Smashburger or Twitter @Smashburger.) That’s when they’ll be entered to win airfare for two, a real wedding officiated by “Elvis” at Smashburger in Las Vegas, as well as hotel accommodations and tickets to the elaborate retro-glam showgirl extravaganza, “Jubilee!” provided by Bally’s Las Vegas.
Everyone knows Las Vegas is the wedding capital of the world and “magic dates,” such as those with repeating (12/12/12) or consecutive (11/12/13) numbers, are extremely popular for weddings. According to David’s Bridal, more than 7,500 U.S. couples wed on 12/12/12, compared to just 485 in 2011. In addition, a survey by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com shows that casual weddings are on the rise; nuptials described as “casual” climbed 30 percent between 2009 and 2011.
