The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) takes its usual place at the top of the volume list with 487,000 contracts and a put/call ratio of 2 to 1. The S&P 500 Index (:SPX) options have traded 191,000 contracts, with 105,000 puts. The CBOE Volatility Index (:VIX) has seen 161,000 change hands, with calls outpacing puts by 3 to 1.
Just behind are the PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) contracts at 155,000, with 85,000 puts. The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 108,000 contracts trading, with slightly more calls than puts. The SPDR Gold Shares Fund (GLD) has 84,000 options moving, with 55,000 calls.
