Total option volume is quite light at just 4.3 million contracts so far, and sentiment is mixed again in the top indexes and ETFs, according to optionMONSTER's data systems.
The SPDR S&P 500 Fund (SPY) has 550,000 options trading, led by 341,000 puts. Next up are the S&P 500 Index (:SPX) options at 189,000, with puts outpacing calls by 2 to 1.
Just behind are the PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ) options at 177,000, though calls outpace with 105,000 in that name. The CBOE Volatility Index (:VIX) options have turned over 155,000 times, with more puts than calls.
The iShares Russell 2000 Fund (IWM) has 123,000 contracts changing hands, with 75,000 puts. The iShares Emerging Markets Fund (EEM) has 88,000 options traded, 53,000 of which are calls.
