Ingram Micro Honors Women of Technology at Inaugural Event

Company Awards Four Attendees for Contributions to Women in IT

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 8, 2014) - In recognition of their contributions to the role of women in the IT industry, Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) honored four partners with awards at the inaugural Ingram Micro Women of Technology event July 31 at the Park Country Club in Buffalo, N.Y. The awards stem from peer nominations and recognize women who lead by example. The winners are as follows:

  • The Empowering Women Through Mentorship award was presented to Brenda Stallings of Matrix Integration, for her support of multiple organizations dedicated to the success of women including SOAR and the National Association of Women Business Owners.

  • The Embracing Diversity award was presented to Ying McGuire of TIG, for her work as the company's vice president of International Operations and Diversity.

  • The Giving Back, Support of Philanthropic Initiatives award was presented to Patrice D'earmo Flack (Cisco), vice president, Americas Field Marketing, for her numerous community involvement efforts, including her work as vice chair of the Million Women Mentors Leadership Council and on behalf of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

  • The Rising Star Award was presented to Stacia Alexander, national accounts manager, Samsung Electronics USA. Stacia is honored for her integral role in the partnership between Samsung Consumer Electronics and Ingram Micro Consumer Electronics.

Ingram Micro's inaugural Women of Technology event, a part of the lead-up to the company's 19th annual Ingram Micro Charity Golf Tournament, included a gathering of more than 50 Ingram Micro customers, select technology partners and associates, along with top female Ingram Micro executives. The event featured keynote speaker JJ DiGeronimo, a technology executive, author, speaker, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) advocate, and afforded opportunities for attendees to network and discuss what the industry can do to help encourage a more diverse IT workforce.
