Installed Building Products Executive Honored With National Leadership Award

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - Sep 24, 2014) - The Insulation Contractors Association of America (ICAA) recently honored Installed Building Products (IBP) (NYSE: IBP) Director of Risk Management Becky Karam with the prestigious ICAA Key Person Award, recognizing leadership and dedication in the industry.

In recognition of her outstanding service, the ICAA presented Karam with the award last week at the 2014 ICAA Conference and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida. More than 660 industry attendees ranging from insulation suppliers, contractors, trade associations and government officials were present at the trade show.

Karam, who has been with IBP since 1997, chaired the ICAA Respiratory Task Force and led an initiative to update and expand the 2011 ICAA Model Respiratory Protection Program. Her leadership led to the respiratory protection updates being available to all insulation contractors in the United States, and the program has become a national standard in the industry.

"I was very surprised and honored to receive this award," said Karam. "The ICAA is an excellent resource for our industry and membership's active participation is what makes this association special. It was my pleasure to chair this task force and work with such a great group of individuals."

"Becky and her team worked hard to create and implement real-world solutions in our industry to minimize exposure," said Jeff Edwards, CEO of IBP. "We are excited she has received this national award recognizing her dedication."

During Karam's 17-year career at IBP she has held several positions, starting as the controller for the first IBP branch in Columbus, Ohio to the past nine years as head of the Risk Department.

Karam is the second IBP executive to win the ICAA Key Person Award. Jeff Hire, President of External Affairs, earned the award in 2008.
