Intel reports progress on smaller mobile chip, Reuters reports

Intel (INTC), presenting at an industry conference in San Francisco, reported on the progress of a new, smaller mobile processing chip that measures just 22 nanometers, against the company's current chip offering that measures 32 nanometers, and that the company says the new chips will be ready for "high volume manufacturing in 2013," according to a Reuters report. The report notes that chip competitors Qualcomm (QCOM) currently makes a 28 nanometer chip while Nvidia (NVDA) makes a 40 nanometer chip.
