July passenger traffic rose 3.5% vs. a year earlier, the Int'l Air Transport Association said. IATA noted growth was mild vs. earlier this year but, so far in '12, traffic has risen every month, partly on comparisons with last year when the Arab Spring disrupted Mideast travel. Int'l flights are a key market for Boeing's (BA) new 787 Dreamliner. United Continental (UAL) and Delta Air Lines (DAL) get a large share of sales — and money-making flights — from overseas travel.
