Yahoo released its search trends for 2012 this week.
The iPhone 5 was the second most popular search term this year, and it was only beaten by the presidential election.
But the iPhone 5 still beat out other popular topics like Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, and the Olympics. It was also the only gadget to crack the top 10 list.
For the Obesessions category, Yahoo ranked the iPhone 5 number one. "Hunger Games" and "Fifty Shades of Grey," and "Gangnam Style" never stood a chance.
