Iron Mountain CEO Reese plans to retire; company names Meaney as successor

BOSTON (AP) -- Information storage and management company Iron Mountain said Monday that Chairman and CEO Richard Reese plans to retire.

Reese served as CEO of Iron Mountain from December 1981 to June 2008 and returned as its CEO in April 2011. He also served as chairman starting in 1995 and as executive chairman since June 2008.

The Boston company appointed William Meaney as CEO. The 52-year-old will also serve as president and a board member, effective Jan. 7, 2013. Meaney previously served as CEO of Hong Kong's Zuellig Group.

Iron Mountain named lead independent director Al Verrecchia as chairman, which is effective upon Reese's retirement from the board in March. Verrecchia, who also serves as Hasbro Inc.'s chairman, joined Iron Mountain's board in March 2010.

In October Iron Mountain reported that its third-quarter net income climbed, but its performance missed Wall Street expectations.

Iron Mountain Inc.'s stock shed 9 cents to $31.51 in morning trading.
