ZURICH, SWITZERLAND and GAITHERSBURG, MD--(Marketwired - Jun 4, 2013) - iscoord ag, a leading provider of Unified Communications (UC) softphone applications, and BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSFT), the leading provider of software and services that enable mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to offer UC services over their IP networks, announced today they have completed interoperability of the newest is-phone® Lync with BroadSoft's BroadWorks telephony application server, a software plug-in which seamlessly integrates BroadWorks capabilities in Microsoft™ Lync™ 2010 client.

is-phone Lync unleashes BroadWorks capabilities in Microsoft Lync and now includes major improvements:

  • All BroadWorks telephony features provided in deskphone mode are now supported in softphone mode: CommPilot Express, Remote Office, Do not Disturb, Call Forwarding Always, Simultaneous Ringing, lookup in BroadWorks directory and direct access to User's self-care portal.

  • Users now have a consistent BroadWorks UC experience whether running is-phone Lync in deskphone or softphone mode. A user can now smoothly switch between their deskphone and softphone mode, with a single click and using the same BroadWorks telephony account.

  • BroadWorks Device Management allows provisioning and administration of is-phone Lync "devices" in both deskphone and softphone modes and includes a BroadWorks licensing mechanism to ease installation and operation.

  • Interoperability with BroadWorks R17.sp4, R18, R18.sp1, R19  and R19.sp1, including SIP interoperability tests in softphone mode.

  • Windows 8 support.

  • In desk phone mode, the plug-in has been tested in virtualized environments such as Citrix and Terminal Services.

Leslie Ferry, vice president marketing, BroadSoft, said: "We are dedicated to providing solutions that meet the varied and unique needs of our global service provider customers. Many enterprises globally are seeking comprehensive telephony integration with Microsoft Lync and we believe the iscoord integration with BroadWorks will enable our joint telecommunications service provider customers to offer their users an advanced communication experience."

"We believe the softphone mode integration with full BroadWorks capabilities to be of great interest for many corporations. Users can now switch between the deskphone and softphone mode, in a very simple way, and continue benefiting from their rich BroadWorks telephony experience. This allows companies to implement a simple solution to address both office & mobile corporate telephony needs in Lync while leveraging their legacy BroadWorks platforms -- this is definitively a key competitive advantage," said Christophe Remillet, head of business development, iscoord.
