Italian PM Letta to seek parliamentary backing-source


ROME, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Italian Prime Minister EnricoLetta will seek to verify the level of support he commands inparliament next week, following the resignation of centre-rightministers from his government, but he may not call a fullconfidence vote, a government source said on Saturday.

President Giorgio Napolitano, who would have to decidewhether to call new elections or try to oversee the formation ofa new government, said in a statement he had been informed byLetta of the resignations and would decide the next stepstogether with the prime minister.
