Jacobs receives ACEC Engineering Excellence Award for University of Oklahoma Utility Plant

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (JEC) announced today that it was honored with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Award for the University of Oklahoma (OU) Utility Plant 4 project in Norman, Okla.

Jacobs provided full-service architecture and engineering, including construction administration, on OU’s new utility plant. The $65 million project was designed to produce chilled water and a combined heat and power/cogeneration system for the campus to efficiently meet long-term energy and power needs, while reducing energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Tom McDuffie stated, “We are honored and pleased to be recognized by the ACEC for our work at OU. It is a privilege to have designed this award-winning facility in support of our client’s commitment to sustainability today and in the future.”
