Jamba Juice Shows its Heart by Leveraging Stores, Employees and Company Leadership to Raise Funds and Generate Awareness for the American Heart Association

Jamba Juice Company (JMBA), a leading health and wellness brand, announced today that for the second consecutive year, the Company has met its commitment to help raise funds and generate awareness for the American Heart Association (AHA). The company deployed various assets to support the AHA’s efforts in improving childhood health, which include funding research, prevention, advocacy and community outreach focused on the prevention of childhood obesity and children’s heart defects.

During four weeks in February and March, Jamba raised over $200,000 in the California market through the Whirl’d Hearts campaign, including the contribution of $1 for each sale of Jamba oatmeal during one week of the campaign and sales of value-added coupon packs which provided consumers with over $10 in coupons in return for a $1 donation. The back of the coupon pack featured health information and spotlighted the AHA’s work. Consumers who donated $1 received recognition with their names placed on hearts posted on Jamba Juice’s store walls. Over $100,000 of the money raised helped fund the AHA’s annual Heart of Gold Ball.

A portion of the funds were raised during Jamba’s second annual silent auction held at the Company’s Emeryville Support Center on March 14th. Local businesses, sports teams, athletes and community organizations joined Jamba in contributing items for the auction, which was attended by employees and associates from other local businesses. Jamba Juice team members were empowered with lifesaving skills through the AHA “Hands-Only” CPR training sessions.

Jamba’s efforts will contribute to the AHA’s East Bay Heart Ball campaign, which is expected to raise up to $1,000,000 and which will culminate at the Heart of Gold Ball on May 31st.
