Subaru's January US sales rise 21 percent, led by Outbacks and Foresters

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) -- Subaru of America Inc. said Friday that January U.S. sales rose 21 percent from the same month a year ago led by its Forester and Outback models.

BY THE NUMBERS: Subaru said that it sold 27,663 vehicles last month, up from 22,807 in January 2012.

TOP SELLER: The Outback wagon led the way, at 8,632, an increase of more than 16 percent.

HOT MODELS: Sales of the Forester rose 28 percent to 6,565. Sales of the Impreza WRX jumped 84 percent on smaller numbers; 1,306 were sold.
