JDA agrees to RedPrairie deal

The supply-chain management software firm agreed to be bought by privately held rival RedPrairie for $1.9 bil in cash. The $45 per share offer was an 18% premium over JDA Software Group's (JDAS) previous-day close. Shares rose 17.3% to 44.76. The price represents a 33% premium to JDA's stock price on Oct. 26, the last day of trading before rumors surfaced of a possible sale. JDA also said Q3 EPS slipped 17% to 53 cents, 1 cent shy of analysts' forecasts. Revenue slipped 5% to $164.5 mil, missing.
