John Nardone Recognized for Career and Contributions With ad:tech Industry Achievement Award

[x+1] Chairman and CEO Lauded for His Impact on Digital Marketing

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 7, 2012) - [x+1], a leading provider of cloud-based digital marketing and data management software, is pleased to announce that Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Nardone has been honored with the ad:tech Industry Achievement Award for the personal impacts he has had in establishing the Internet as a marketing vehicle. Nardone received the award at a special Industry Achievement Award presentation at the start of ad:tech New York at the Jacob Javits Center.

A classically trained brand marketer and leading marketing strategist, Nardone has helped set the agenda for the industry over the course of his career. He has been responsible for groundbreaking approaches to data and analytics, developing multi-channel technology platforms and championing integrated enterprise marketing solutions.

"John was big on the scene in the early days of digital marketing," said Sarah Fay, chairman, dmg::events digital marketing sector's Board of Governors and recipient of the Industry Achievement award in 2007, "and for as long as I've known him he has been a visionary. But he's also been an executer. When John sees a better way of marketing is possible, he makes it happen -- even if it completely breaks the mold; and the rest of the industry has benefited from the path he has forged. This recognition is well-deserved."

As the VP of Client Strategy for Modem Media from 1994 to 1996, Nardone was responsible for placing the first paid ads on the Internet. As Modem's VP of Media, Research and Database Marketing from 1996-1999, he established the industry's first online media planning and buying group and led some of the industry's first online research initiatives. In 1995 Nardone was elected by his industry peers to serve as a founding member of the board of directors for the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), a post he held for six years. In 2008, John became the Chairman and CEO of [x+1], where he is again on the vanguard of industry transformation by helping enterprise marketers harness the power of "big data" to drive real-time marketing decisions.

"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized with this award," said Nardone, "but I also feel that this is an award shared with many brilliant people who have been my partners throughout my career. Ours is an industry driven by innovation and collaboration and I'm lucky to have had the opportunity to do both at a time of exciting and important change -- change that is only accelerating. I've never been more excited to come to work every day."

Nardone received his BA from Duke University and his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He currently lives in Connecticut with his wife Mary and four sons, Jake, Sam, Nick and Alec. John is an avid comic book collector and a rabid Yankees fan. When he's not running things at [x+1] you'll find him running from game to game to watch his boys play.

Since 2007, ad:tech has honored industry leaders for their contributions to the success of the interactive marketing industry. Honorees are chosen by a panel of judges, made up of previous award winners, for their long-term dedication and consistent outstanding service to online marketing.
