GOLDEN VALLEY, MN--(Marketwire -07/05/12)- Today, KARE 11 Television announced its new anchor team for the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. weeknight newscasts.

Randy Shaver joins Julie Nelson as KARE 11's weeknight co-anchor. "This new team underscores KARE 11's home-grown approach to sharing news and information," said John Remes, President and General Manager of KARE 11. "Julie's experience and leadership is a perfect pairing with Randy's news know-how and community commitment."

"This anchor team will be at the forefront of KARE 11's engagement with people throughout the Twin Cities, wherever and whenever news happens that touches their lives," said News Director Jane Helmke.

Randy has been an integral part of the team since 1983. Randy has been a sports reporter, weekend anchor, and most recently sports director at KARE 11.

The new weeknight KARE 11 anchor team starts Monday, July 16, 2012.
