Hedge fund manager Doug Kass reignited rumors that have previously circulated that Apple (AAPL) may announce a stock split with a post to his Twitter account, then went on to tweet that the rumblings have "been out for days, maybe weeks" and that such a move would require a shareholder vote, which likely would have been on tomorrow's agenda if it were going to happen, according to CNET. Shares of Apple, which are often volatile in spite of its high market capitalization, closed the day up 1.38% at $448.90 ahead of tomorrow's shareholder meeting.
