BELLPORT, N.Y. (AP) -- Perfume seller Perfumania Holdings Inc. said Thursday that its revenue at stores open at least a year fell 2.3 percent in August.
The measure is a key gauge of a retailer's health, because it excludes the impact of sales at stores that opened or closed during the year.
Bellport, N.Y.-based Perfumania said total sales for the four weeks ended Aug. 25 was nearly flat at $19 million, from $19.1 million last year.
Year-to-date, revenue in stores open at least one year rose 0.1 percent and total revenue was flat at $140.3 million.
Perfumania shares slipped 4 cents to $8.31 in morning trading.
