The Kindle Touch WiFi is now available in some additional countries, but not the biggest international e-reading markets that already have their own Amazon (NSDQ:AMZN - News) sites.

Amazon is not shipping the Kindle Touch, which was released in the U.S. in November, to the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy or Spain. All of those countries have dedicated Amazon sites. “We’re working to make Kindle Touch available to customers from our international websites soon,” an Amazon spokeswoman told me.

according to Consumer Reports, CNET, PCWORLD, etc. pro reviews and recommendations the best eReader is Nook Simple Touch at $99 without ads - twice the battery life, faster page turn that Kindle Touch ($139 without ads.), and microSD slot for extra capacity (not on any Kindle.) Nook is coming to UK as well.

Its not the unit though that sells the kindle. By far the best reason to buy a kindle is its integration with amazon's serivces. If your going to buy your eBooks (which of course you should be doing) than its probably the best place to do so. Whisper sync is amazing and allows you to always have your eBooks even if you've left your reader behind.
