ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- Eastman Kodak Co. says Pradeep Jotwani is resigning as the president of consumer business and chief marketing officer.

The announcement Thursday comes as the Rochester-headquartered company reorganizes under bankruptcy protection.

Kodak Chairman Antonio Perez says in a statement that the company's consumer segment has continued to improve under Jotwani in recent months, despite the circumstances, and wished the outgoing executive well.

Kodak didn't give a reason for the resignation, which takes effect May 31.

Earlier this week, Kodak lawyers told a U.S. Bankruptcy judge that turnover has become a serious problem and were granted approval to pay up to $13.5 million in bonuses to persuade key managers to stay on.

Jotwani is a former Hewlett-Packard Co. executive who joined Kodak in September 2010.
