A concept light fixture called Nebula 12 will make clouds to match a stormy weather forecast.
You wake up in the morning and check your phone for the day's weather. What if instead you turned on a lamp and it showed you, with either a bright glowing yellow bulb or small fluffy steam clouds? That's the idea behind a lamp concept called Nebula 12 created by Swiss design firm Micasa LAB. "We have not taken the stars down from the sky, but we have captured a cloud," the company touts.
The lamp collects its weather data from a Nokia Lumia phone and the recreates the forecast with yellow (sunny) or red (threatening) light and the presence of a cloud or not (created by using liquid nitrogen to cause moisture in the air to condense). But (thankfully) that's the extent of its weather-creation powers: The lamp will not bring rain into your home, even if it's pouring outside.
