Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ): About 15,000 October 70 calls were bought for $0.43 against open interest of 7,290 contracts as investors look for upside in the share price. JNJ rose 0.37 percent to $65.69.
Morgan Stanley (MS): Some 14,000 June 14 calls were bought for $0.09 to $0.15. Volume was below open interest and they expire today, so the activity may result from short-term bullish bets or existing positions being closed. MS rose 0.04 percent to $13.94.
General Electric (GE): More than 12,000 September 18 puts were sold, mostly for $0.54, but volume was below open interest. GE rose 1.07 percent to $19.93.
Facebook (FB): Some 10,000 January 20 puts traded for $1.80 to $1.85. They were mostly bought, but volume was below open interest in the strike. FB rose 1.80 percent to $28.80.
