Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Bank of America (BAC): Some 10,000 August 7 calls were bought for $0.93 to $1 as investors look for upside in the stock. BAC rose 0.90 percent to $7.89.
Microsoft (MSFT): Investors purchased more than 9,000 contracts in the July 29 calls for $0.58 to $0.73. The July 31s were also active. MSFT rose 0.27 percent to $29.47.
Citigroup (C): Some 8,700 August 26 puts were bought for $0.73 to $0.80, as investors sought protection in the face of today's gains. C rose 1.24 percent to $26.98.
ITT Educational Services (ESI): An investor purchased more than 7,000 October 57.50 calls for $3.35. There was also unusual activity in the October 57.50 puts. ESI rose 0.41 percent to $56.08.
