Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Morgan Stanley (MS): More than 9,000 January 17.50 calls were purchased, mostly for $1.31, as investors continue to seek upside in the brokerage stock. MS fell 1.35 percent to $16.85.
Bank of America (BAC): About 28,000 October 9 calls traded for $0.34 to $0.36, as investors bought and sold the contracts against previous open interest. BAC fell 0.68 percent to $8.74.
Phillips 66 (PSX): Volume surged in the January 37 puts and the January 44 calls as an investor closed a bullish synthetic long position. PSX rose 0.55 percent to $44.50.
American International Group (AIG): Some 12,500 January 30 calls were bought for $4.60 and $4.70 but volume was below open interest at the strike. AIG fell 1.53 percent to $33.47.
