Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA): An investor bought 5,000 January 40 calls for $1.75 and sold an equal number of January 35 puts for $1.94, resulting in a net cost of $0.19. While bullish, it's not clear whether the trade was initiated or closed because volume was below open interest. TEVA rose 0.24 percent to $37.87.
Safeway (SWY): More than 5,000 December 16 puts were bought for $1 as investors look for the supermarket stock to push lower. SWY fell 1.01 percent to $17.65.
Anadarko Petroleum (APC): Volume surged in the August 50 puts and the August 55 puts. It appears that a short position in 12,000 of the 50s was closed, rolled up to the 55s and increased to 18,000 contracts. APC fell 2.59 percent to $62.55.
