Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Intel (INTC): Volume surged in the January 23.50 calls before the company releases quarterly results tonight. Most of the contracts priced for $0.12. INTC rose 0.95 percent to $22.32.
Tyco International (TYC): An investor bought 7,695 July 35 calls for $0.53 and sold an equal number of July 32 calls for $1.30, rolling a long position to the higher strike. TYC rose 0.95 percent to $30.83.
Bank of America (BAC): Some 8,400 January 2014 7 puts were bought, mostly for $0.25. Volume was below open interest, so an existing short position may have been closed. BAC fell 3.27 percent to $11.40.
Applied Materials (AMAT): Some 11,000 April 12 calls traded, mostly for $0.57 to $0.60, but volume was far below open interest at the strike. AMAT rose 1.43 percent to $12.10.
