Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Bank of America (BAC): Almost 2,300 December 11 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.09 and $0.10, as investors look for upside in the shares. BAC fell 0.86 percent to $10.37.
Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (FCX): Some 10,000 February 40 calls were purchased for $0.17 as investors look for the miner to rebound. FCX is down 3.61 percent to $31.
Juniper Networks (JNPR): Investors sold the April 16 puts and bought the April 20 calls for a net cost of $0.37. The resulting position is similar to owning shares, with significant leverage to the upside and downside. JNPR rose 1.69 percent to $18.68.
NRG Energy (NRG): Almost 23,000 December 20 puts were bought for $0.10 but volume was below open interest at the strike. NRG rose 1.15 percent to $21.98.
