Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Nasdaq OMX Group (:NDAQ): Some 1,400 January 37 calls were purchased, mostly for $1.48 to $1.99 as investors look for upside in the stock price. NDAQ rose 2.21 percent to $38.43.
Fastenal (FAST): More than 6,000 February 50 calls were bought, mostly for $1.20, but shares were heavy sold around the same time. That suggests the use of a delta-neutral strategy that will make money from increased volatility rather than a directional move. FAST rose 0.09 percent to $46.93. (See related story )
Twenty-First Century Fox (FOXA): Some 10,000 January 35 calls were sold for $0.60 as traders position for a top in the entertainment stock. FOXA is down 0.33 percent to $33.64.
