Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Broadcom (BRCM): A block of 6,000 September 26 calls was bought for $0.41 and an equal number of September 27 calls was sold for $0.18. Known as a call spread, the trade cost $0.23 and will earn more than 300 percent if the chip maker closes at or above $27 on expiration. BRCM rose 1.39 percent to $25.10.
Leap Wireless (LEAP): Some 6,200 January 12 puts were bought for $0.20 and an equal number of January 16 calls was bought for $0.40. Known as a long strangle, the trade cost $0.60 and will profit from volatility increasing. LEAP rose 0.26 percent to $15.40.
Cisco Systems (CSCO): More than 9,000 September 24 calls were purchased, mostly for $0.23, as investors position for upside in the technology giant. CSCO fell 0.06 percent to $23.47.
