Largest option trades in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Gold Fields (GFI): Some 17,442 January 3 calls were bought for $1.19, and an equal number of January 4s were bought for $0.39 against open interest. That suggests an existing short position was closed and rolled lower as the investor looks for continued weakness in the share price. GFI fell 5.71 percent to $4.13. (See related story )

PepsiCo (PEP): A block of 7,500 January 87.50 calls was bought for $0.69 and 10,000 January 90s were sold at the same time. Known as a ratio spread, the trade will profit from a limited rally in the share price. PEP rose 0.55 percent to $85.60

Avon Products (AVP): More than 4,000 December 16 calls were bought for $1.40 as investors look for the cosmetics stock to rebound. AVP rose 1.75 percent to $17.44. (See related post on InsideOptions Pro)
