Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Utilities SPDR fund (:XLU): Some 47,000 November 39 calls were bought, mostly for $0.33, as investors look for the utility sector to rally in coming weeks. XLU rose 0.94 percent to $38.71. (See related story )
NuStar GP (NSH): Some 3,400 November 25 calls were purchased, mostly for $1.70, as investors continue to position for upside in name. It's been frequently targeted in recent weeks. NSH rose 3.52 percent to $26.33.
St. Jude Medical (STJ): A block of 2,000 November 55 puts were sold for $0.60 as investors looked for the medical-device maker to hold its ground. STJ fell 0.23 percent to $56.41. (See related story )
