MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire -01/16/12)- Swinton Bikes, the UK's leading retailer of motorbike insurance, is encouraging motorcyclists to shake off the January blues, to get geared up and head out to test drive the best biking roads in Britain.
A recent survey commissioned by Swinton bike insurance has revealed the nation's best biking roads with the Cat and Fiddle run between Buxton and Macclesfield voted the most favourite route. More than half of bikers surveyed said that the road had beautiful scenery and a great mixture of bends and straights.
Bikers voted The Horseshoe Pass in North Wales as second best, followed by Inverness to John O' Groats and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
According to the survey, Britain's best biking roads are:
-- The Cat and Fiddle run, Buxton/Macclesfield
-- Horseshoe Pass, North Wales
-- A9/A99 Inverness - John O'Groats
-- A686 Newcastle-Upon-Tyne - Penrith
-- A1067 Norwich - Fakenham
Anthony Aronin, Head of Swinton Bikes said, "It's fantastic to feel the elements of the open roads and the twists and turns that get your knee down and heart rate up. The beautiful scenery gives bikers the sense of adventure which is what makes biking so thrilling. Bikers must always remain within the appropriate speed limits and not to speed around bends as this could cause danger to other road users and could result in expensive motorcycle insurance claims."
