ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 18, 2014) - The Let's Talk Small Business May 20, 2014 episode was the second in a series that featured Cassius Butts, Regional Administrator for the Small Business Administration (SBA), being interviewed by host Stacey Key.

The SBA is a United States independent agency of the federal government that provides aid, counsel, assistance and protection for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Cassius Butts was appointed by President Barack Obama as Regional Administrator in 2011 to be the eyes and ears of the small business community. Butts oversees the nine district offices in the Southeastern region.

During the interview, Butts delved into detail on the programs and opportunities of the SBA, focusing on its small business-friendly loan programs and business mentorship services.

"I typically view things from a different perspective, not necessarily from right to left or red to blue, but green," explained Butts. "Access to capital is huge and it is the lifeblood of this economy."

The SBA provides access to capital through partnered financial institutions, at no cost to the constituent. They offer a variety of loan programs built to cover all the needs of a small business or start-up company, including real estate and equipment loans.

In Georgia, Butts is focused on supporting the developing businesses that sustain Atlanta's airport expansion. In addition, another major expansion is underway for the large U.S. seaport in Savannah, a project that will promote the growth of new business in the city.
