BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - July 31, 2014) - LevelUp, the mobile payments company with over 1.5 million users and 14,000 accepting business locations, is announcing the launch of it's gift card feature. Businesses can enroll to start selling gift cards with LevelUp as of today. LevelUp powered gift card should be rolling into store in the next couple of weeks.
Here's how it works: Businesses are now able to sell physical gift cards in-store and digital gift cards in-app and online, all powered by LevelUp. The physical gift cards have unique QR codes on them that can be activated with any amount the purchaser would like to load. The digital gift cards are delivered in a gorgeously gift-wrapped email to the recipient.
Recipients of LevelUp gift card can either redeem it by scanning the gift card in-store at the LevelUp scanner, or they can "link" the card to their LevelUp account, to transfer over the value and redeem simply by paying with their phone.
"Gift cards have long been the most requested feature from both consumers and businesses using LevelUp," said Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of LevelUp. "As we continue to build out features for businesses on the LevelUp platform, we're excited to finally be rolling out gift cards."
LevelUp's gift card feature will be available to business for $50 per location per month. LevelUp's ultra-low 1.95% processing rate will also apply to gift card sales. Businesses can design their own custom cards and use their own fulfillment partners, or have LevelUp produce the cards for them.
"I'm really excited to roll out LevelUp's gift card program," said Levent Berksan, CEO of Cafe De Boston. "We've always offered gift cards, but lacked the tools to properly promote them to our customer base, or sell digital cards. We're really excited to leverage LevelUp to get more of our customers giving the gift of Cafe De Boston to their friends."
