When Life Happens, How Prepared Are You?

As Life Insurance Awareness Month begins, Guardian launches new video series depicting real-life clients who have used life insurance to meet their financial goals

No one can predict exactly what will happen in life, but we can try our best to prepare. As insurance companies and industry groups prepare for Life Insurance Awareness Month in September, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian) is launching an online video series on YouTube depicting actual customers whose life insurance policies have had a powerful impact on their financial well-being.

“You purchase life insurance to protect yourself and your loved ones. Yet a recent LIMRA study revealed that less than half of consumers ages 25 to 64 have individual life insurance coverage,” said Michael Ferik, Senior Vice President for Individual Life at Guardian. “Financial professionals can use these videos to start a conversation with their own clients about incorporating life insurance into their overall financial strategy.”

The three-minute videos provide real-life examples of financial professionals using various life insurance strategies to meet their clients’ goals, including:

  • Mike and Marianne Carpenter's foresight to protect themselves with life insurance enabled their family to endure the most challenging circumstances and to start rebuilding their lives after Marianne’s passing.
  • From his playing days as a professional lacrosse player to meeting his wife to the birth of his first child, Nick Carlson has experienced his share of life changes. Nick has worked with Guardian throughout the major events of his life to build assets, protect what's important to his family, and plan for their future.
  • Alex von Bidder, owner of New York City restaurant, The Four Seasons, has been providing the epitome of white glove service for more than half a century. Alex's primary goal is to ensure everything he's worked hard to build is properly protected. Being financially prepared for life's inevitable circumstances gives him the financial confidence to enjoy the life he's worked hard to build.
