WILMINGTON, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Logan Homes announces its plans to develop one of the last large waterfront properties remaining in Wilmington, N.C. The new community, Helms Port, will sit on the former site of the well-known Emmarts family Christmas tree farm located on Masonboro Sound Road. The 85-acre waterfront community is slated to have a 75-slip marina, 159 homes, and a large resort-style clubhouse and pool overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway.

“Logan Homes is both honored and humbled to be the developer of such an extraordinary piece of land,” said D Logan, president of Logan Homes. He added, “We believe Helms Port will be one of the most noteworthy communities developed in Wilmington in the last 20 years.”

“This beloved land has been in my family for generations,” said Maurice Emmarts, the family patriarch. “We knew it would take a special person and a special company to develop this very special property. We’ve found that in D and his company Logan Homes.” Mr. Emmarts continued.

The grand opening of Helms Port is currently scheduled for early spring 2015.

The real estate opportunities available within the community will include coastal cottage single-family homes priced from $400,000, estate homes priced from $500,000 and custom waterfront homes along the Intracoastal Waterway priced from $800,000.

The community’s first homes are slated to be completed and ready for sale in early Spring 2015.
