Logitech Offers State-of-the-Art Wireless Mouse - Analyst Blog

Computer peripherals manufacturer Logitech International SA LOGI recently launched a state-of-the-art wireless mouse that is equipped with an industry-leading technology and hand-sculpted design. The Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse, as the innovative product is named, is expected to be available from the next month at a retail price of $99.99. Despite such an innovative product, share prices fell 2.7% since the announcement to $13.22 as on Mar 26, 2015.

Incorporating various navigation options and advanced features, the mouse is a strategic fit for customers working with multiple screens, devices and operating systems. Billed as the best mouse ever produced by Logitech due to its precise, fast and comfortable navigation facilities, the product enjoys a competitive advantage over other available variants in the market.

The Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse is shaped to perfectly support the hand and wrist in a natural position to enable a fluid and smooth maneuvering of buttons and wheels. The speed-adaptive scroll in the mouse allows customers to deftly use the auto-shift option to change to super-fast scrolling. In addition, a unique thumbwheel offers users a seamless transition to side-to-side scrolling and page switching views.

With a rechargeable battery usually lasting 40 days on full charging given normal usage, the mouse provides a perfect alternative for ‘on the go’ users. The battery can even work for a whole day with just four minutes of charging and can be used while charging to eliminate any downtime risk.

Growing adoption of new mobile platforms, such as tablets and smartphones, in both mature and emerging markets is fueling demand for Logitech’s peripherals and accessories. Moving forward, the company intends to continuously tap the high-potential market for accessories by pursuing innovation and expanding its product lines.

Logitech is dedicatedly following its three-year turnaround plan to reduce its costs while driving up profits and margins significantly. As per the plan, Logitech has been working on its core business structure including designing, manufacturing and distribution system to significantly improve operational efficiency. The company has also been divesting its non-core assets to reduce costs.

We are impressed with Logitech’s restructuring activities and technical skills. The stock currently has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
