Hyundai's March US sales rise 12.7 percent, biggest sellers are Sonata, Elantra

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) -- Hyundai Motor America said Tuesday that its U.S. March sales rose 12.7 percent from a year ago led by increased demand for its Sonata and Accent cars.

BY THE NUMBERS: The company said it sold 69,728 vehicles last month compared with 61,873 in March 2011.

TOP SELLERS: Sales of the Hyundai's Sonata model grew 1.7 percent to 23,281.

HOT MODELS: Sales of the Accent rose 45.3 percent to 8,337 in March from 5,739 in March 2011.
