TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. said Tuesday that its U.S. sales rose 15.4 percent in March as gains by the Camry and the Prius hybrid offset falling sales in the luxury Lexus line. It was the company's best March in the U.S. since 2008.
BY THE NUMBERS: Toyota said it sold 203,282 vehicles last month, up from 176,222 in March 2011, which had one fewer selling day.
TOP SELLER: Sales of the Camry jumped to 42,567, up 35.3 percent.
HOT MODELS: The Prius sold 28,711 models, a 54.3 percent gain. The Lexus GS sold 2,558 vehicles, up from 431 a year ago, bucking a 2.6 percent drop for Lexus vehicles overall due to weak sales of SUVs.
