Markets rebound, Amazon vs. Netflix and Tesla's bigger battery

U.S. stocks (^GSPC, ^DJI, ^IXIC) are on the rebound today after shedding about 3% yesterday thanks to a stabilized (for now) China and solid jobs data here at home. Investors will get another big data point later in the week when the government releases August jobs data Friday at 8:30a.

Bill Gross on the Fed
Bill Gross, has long called on the Federal Reserve to raise rates but now, in his September Investment Outlook report, he says raising rates in the current environment "cannot be approached without spooking markets further and creating self-inflicted financial instability."

Tesla's big new battery
Tesla (TSLA) is now taking orders for its Roadster battery update. With a price tag of $29,000. The new batteries will store about 40 percent more energy and have a range of roughly 400 miles.

Netflix vs. everyone
Amazon (AMZN) just announced a new streaming perk. Customers with Amazon Prime subscriptions can now download movies and shows to smartphones and tablets for viewing offline. Not to be outdone Hulu came out with some news of its own - that it will launch a commercial free tier for $12 a month. Looks like everyone is going after Netflix (NFLX) in a big way.
