Maryland attorney general reaches settlement with 29 other attorneys general

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler has announced that the state has reached a $29 million settlement with Toyota Motor Corp., along with 29 other attorneys general.

Gansler announced the settlement on Thursday.

The settlement related to allegations that Toyota concealed safety defects in its vehicles. Those included issues related to unintended acceleration.

Toyota also has agreed to provide additional restitution and incentives to vehicle owners to promote compliance with unintended acceleration safety recalls.
