McDonald's launches breakfast all day and Google becomes Alphabet

It's a mixed day for U.S. stocks (^DJI, ^GSPC, ^IXIC) as the major indices try to keep their two day winning streak alive. The next big catalyst may be Q3 earnings season which gets underway in earnest once Alcoa (AA) announces after the bell on Thursday.

While we wait, here are some of the other stories Yahoo Finance is keeping an eye on.

McDonald's launches breakfast all day
McDonald's (MCD) has been talking about offering its popular breakfast menu all day for a while now and today they're putting their Egg McMuffin where their mouth is. The impact of the extended offerings remains to be seen. Can it really help turn things around for the golden arches?

Google becomes Alphabet
The company formerly known as Google has officially changed its name to Alphabet effective today. For the end user not much has changed. So is he suddenly the candidate of the "everyman?"

Canceling Comcast
Have you ever tried to cancel your cable subscription? It often involves a lengthy phone call and navigating a phone tree maze. But now, a new startup is offering to streamline the process, and will help you painlessly cancel your Comcast (CMCSA) subscription for $5 dollars. The site went live on Friday, and since then has been overwhelmed with traffic.
