DENVER (AP) -- The homebuilder MDC Holdings Inc. said Monday that it named John M. Stephens to the position of senior vice president, chief financial officer and principal accounting officer, effective Feb. 13.
Stephens most recently served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Standard Pacific Corp., one of the country's largest publicly traded homebuilders.
He replaces Vilia Valentine, who resigned effective Jan. 4. She held the roles of vice president of finance, corporate controller and chief accounting officer. Valentine has agreed to continue on as a consultant.
MDC is based in Denver and has homebuilding operations across the country, including the metropolitan areas of Denver, Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, the Riverside-San Bernardino area in California, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay area, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, Fla., and Seattle.
