Meiwa Industry to build auto parts plant in Tenn.

Japanese car trim maker will hire 100 at new plant in Tennessee's Marshall County

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Japanese auto parts maker Meiwa Industry will build a plant in Tennessee's Marshall County to supply carmakers in the Southeast.

The $6.1 million plant will employ nearly 100 people when it goes online in April 2014. Meiwa makes components including seat back panels, head liners and trunk and floor components for the auto industry.

The company currently supplies parts to Nissan Motor Co., Toyota Motor Co., and Honda Motor Co.

The new plant will be in Lewisburg.
