MER establishes local presence in Mozambique to support local infrastructure operations
MER Group (C. MER Industries Ltd.), a world leader in digital communication infrastructure for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs), announced today that its telecom division has been chosen to provide full turnkey tower site solutions for two leading mobile operators in Mozambique. The turnkey solution includes site design, tower supply, site construction, as well as hybrid energy system design and implementation.
With mobile penetration at 49% in Mozambique, there's plenty of room for growth. "We are delighted to be working in partnership with two leading mobile operators as we take our first steps into Mozambique," says Mr. Uri Bar-Yosef, GM of the Infrastructure at the telecom division. "Our continued expansion in Africa emphasizes our belief in the growth of Africa's mobile telecommunications market. We are confident that we can provide top-quality service to operators to help them expand and improve their networks while optimizing costs."
In addition to telecom infrastructure, the division provides a wide range of innovative solutions including M2M enablement and vertical market applications, Mobile Financial Services (MFS), Cloud Billing, MVNO enablement, Smart City, as well as on/off board and remote/contactless payment solutions for public transport operators.
