Macy's Inc. rose $.16 or .3 percent, to $49.14.
Nordstrom fell $.37 or .6 percent, to $59.79.
J.C. Penney Co. fell $.44 or 2.3 percent, to $18.95.
Saks rose $.06 or .4 percent, to $15.55.
Sears Holdings Corp. fell $7.74 or 13.3 percent, to $50.43.
TJX Companies rose $.41 or .8 percent, to $50.71.
