There is a huge problem with moral. In the Super Value stores. The new structuring that takes away from the store directors to directly stock and run the stores in their geographic areas is undermining a turn around. Stores need to be able to carry what the customers buy. Now corperate controls a generic way to stock the stores. I have heard this from many former customers. I used to work there so many customers come up to me and tell me this. If they want a turn around they need to put the power of running and stocking the stores back into the local store managements hands. They are on the front lines, and know what thier customers buy. When Joe Albertson was around that's the way it was. Employee moral is important too. I have people tell me all the time it's just not pleasant to shop there anymore. I don't solicite this information they come up to me. I would love to see a turn around, however without a dramatic restructuring I don't see it. They need to take notes from the past. They also need to listen to thier employees. I know people with more than 40 years in the business that just shake thier heads at the way things are being run. It's sad for me. I met Joe Albertson he was a great man. He also personally thanked his employees because without them the store would not be what it was.

I work for a SVU banner, Shaws. We used to be the #2 grocer in New England, now we are the WORST in the area. I don't even shop there anymore. Hi prices and rotten food. No thanks. They will eventually fail and go bankrupt. I've seen this coming for a while and have prepared as much as I can. I feel bad for those who haven't. I predict there will be no more SVU in the next 12 months.
